My insurance, which I pay for, will cover my health needs, or I will pay for them myself. It is not the government’s place to regulate and control my behavior as long as I am not breaking any laws. The government is NOT my mother! I am willing to accept the consequences of my own actions, AS SHOULD EVERYONE!!! Once again, big government is not the solution… big government is the problem.

Was this cartoon produced by Fox?
I live in Canada, we have government run medicare. It is not perfect, but no one worries about losing their home or life savings for emergency care. It does not even cross our minds. We just worry about getting better. Good luck down there.

There is no aspect of control here mate, you are really looking into this the wrong way. They provide health care, if you are in a car crash, they put you back together, hardly an invasion of privacy and control. I live in the UK, the NHS have my medical records, like private healthcare does, to help me when I need it. Do you know google has a database, rumored to be linked to the US government, tracking your browsing, your credit record is open, your police are nazis, and you worry about this?

Medicare is run more efficiently than private insurance. Overhead rates for Medicare are far lower. The reason it’s going broke is that the private insurance co’s are allowed to cherry-pick all the young healthy people who contribute more than they cost, leaving seniors and those with higher costs to be covered by Medicare and government run programs.

Medicare is bankrupt. They get shafted most of all. My Grandmother was in a Nursing home for a time, under private insurance, and had a room mate under medicare. Same room, same care was almost twice the price for Medicare.

Goverment health care will work about as well as any other government program. It will be slow to react, wasteful, have never ending growth due to waste and fraud, It will not be concerned competition or the customer,oh wait there is no such thing as a customer when things are run by the government, your just a number. Also there will be no one held responsible for the errors and abuse that will take place no one! Health care will further bankrupt our country and expand wasteful greedy government.

No because it’s supposed to be completely free. People always say it’s the same thing but free. As it is we’re free to get a Twinkie if we like. We don’t need Big Brothers approval if we decide we’re going to get a beer or a smoke. We’re free to decide who will treat us and how they’ll treat us. In other words the way it is we’re free to be adults. But the reality is government care isn’t about being the same thing but free it’s about the government becoming your parent.

Well don’t accept government health care, go private, simple as that m8…. then everyone has health care, and those that can afford it can choose… now to look at your overpopulation is a myth video, this looks…. controversial.

hmm a better metaphor for healthcare would’ve been better, cos i just got lost and i started thinking that this was about airlines lol

So from this it sounds like the only thing that will change will be that I’ll option to choose govevernment care. So then it must also follow that if I stay on private insurance I’ll be exempt from the Twinkie tax or any other taxes and government regulations that will follow this right? After all, if I’m paying for my own health care I can’t possibly be a burden to the government. Likewise I’ll also be exempt from economic problems that result from the national debt this will create right?

Thats a very good point mate, apart from the last bit which I’ll ignore becuase it seems a bit extreme, it wont cause any economic problems. But part of humane and “fair” society is that those who can afford what many consider to be luxuries such as private health care, and twinkies, pay a small amount to those you can’t, One of the biggest problems in the US is its all out “free market” policy, to each there own, leaving many to be exploited. thanks for your thoughts.

What about those people who can’t afford
a private health care? Those self-employed, freelancers, are they not people too? If I get cancer,I might as well died because I don’t have private health care insurance or I should get in debt for the rest of my life if I do survive the cancer. Does this mean the Rich survive and the Poor just die? We are back to the medieval ages?

Great video.

God forbid you should take responsobility for yourself or family. I know what your getting at. You want others to pay your way. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH
October 30th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
lol, so you think that all the people who are loaning money to these programs don’t care to get it back? At some point this debt has to be paid. As it is this country is already in well over it’s head in debt. This is going to have an impact on the economy.
In reference to your other point there things called charities that help people in these situations. The poor already have government programs to help them. Granted you’ll probably point out that they’re not working, they never do.

I hope most people recognize a propaganda video when they see one.
We knew the insurance industry & the GOP would fight any HC reform.

THANK GOD FOR BARACK H. OBAMA

I completely agree with you. However, we do need reform with our healthcare insurance companies – I cant get insured due to preexisting conditions therefore…I CANT EVEN PAY FOR MY OWN DAMN LUNCH. And also just for the record the free lunch, for so long, has been given in subsidies to large corporate health providers. The moneys allocated to provide the public option will mostly be drawn from what would be paid to those conglomerates.
November 4th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
I understand. Look at it now 1900 pages and 1/6 of the economy in gov’t hands and crooked politicians.
Reform is needed. But a takeover is not. This is a hoodwink for socialism, a tax and a way for gov’t to control the populace.

Been watching those kid videos sponsored or created from the left?
We all have chances of that occuring. BIG gov’t is not the answer. They will strip you of liberties and tax you. What if you land a good job and in good health? How many free loading SOB’s are you going to pay for? You want to be taxed at 90 percent?
