I am HH too. I found out in college when my lecture notes didn’t match my friends for the same class! I struggled so much to hear that by the end of the day I was exhausted from the effort. I became more isolated as I just couldn’t hear others in the cafeteria or coffee house. When I first got my hearing aids, I was STUNNED how much I had missed. It explained a great deal about the strange looks people gave me.

Jennifer, you are fantastic! I know it’s tough. I’ve gone through just about every hearing aid there is. I lost about half my hearing. So I don’t belong to the hearing community. And I don’t belong to the deaf community. It doesn’t matter how much hearing you’ve lost, once you have those hearing aids you’re part of a select group. And my ears stink when I leave them in to long. All the best, Jeff

my name is georgia and im 11 adn in about 2 weeks i have to go and get my hearing aids. I have had gramets but I have never had hearing aids. I was wondering if there is precautions I should look out for? Im very excited about gettin them but worried that everybody will make fun of me

don’t worry hearing aids are cosmetic and you won’t be made fun of.
I got my first hearing aid at age 16 and people just know me with wearing hearing aids.

It is normal and i was never made fun of because i wear hearing aids. Make sure you get a warranty on the hearing aids in case of stolen or lost.I asked my mom something i should say to you.Are you going to get the color hearing aids? I think color hearing aids are so cool.

i have just one question whats under the flap ubove the volume is that to test it ? and the button on top of that when i push it the button on top it beeps or somthin

What brand do you have. Phonak usually have the frogramming socket in the middle. Thats where the audiologist connects and fits the HA. The top button is often the program changer. What you hear when you push it varies, it depends on which programs the audiologist has activated for you. The beeping is to indicate witch program you are in.

when you turn it on about half way it beeps? is that just to inform you its on or to inform you its half way i guess the button is to cutoff noise when your on the phone it whirrs i think its called telecoil

yes they can help and depends on the hearing loss you have and it can’t make you hear 100 %. ever.

Get em bro. I blew out an eardrum playin the drums got an in-canal hearing aid. Now my hearing is pimpin ahaaaa!! Get an in-canal one though you can’t even see it

How bad is your hearing loss?
I have been suffering from mild to severe hearing loss and I am looking for a good hearing aid.
I heard many people saying that they had bad experence with hearing aids and they don’t benifit from them.

My left ear is moderate hearing loss and right ear is mild hearing loss.

i suffer from a ruptured ear drum in my right ear and i have a slight-mild hearing loss. not sure about how many decibles it is but my ent says that my hearing is not bad enough to where i need a hearing aid. but over the years my hearing has gotten a little worse due to the ruptured ear drum. sooner or later i might have to get a hearing aid

i dont like digital hearing aids because of different sound
