I like this advert its really clever.

Bullshit. My sister smokes a lot a day but my niece and nephew hate smoking… what a load of rubbish this is.
From observation, these are lies!

You can’t see these things like they were mathematics, it’s not like 1+1=2… This advertising is warning the parents because if they smoke in front of their children they will see it like a normal and not so unhealthy activity and they will be willing to smoke when they are teenagers.

Okay yes I agree that the resultmay tur out like that, so I shouldn’t have called this “bulls***”… but often this isn’t the case and the problem with this advert is that it portrays it as if it is a strong possiblity.
From observation, I know my sister and my parents’ frieds (I’m 13) who have smoked and had children, that many of their children have actually gone against smoking rather than for it, especially from what they are taught bout it at school and what their senses (smell) tells them

Thanks BrokenBreath.

Its nice they are so against smoking…Im 18 and in my high school a lot of people used to smoke because it was seen as a cool thing hahaha its kind of pathetic
November 22nd, 2008 at 12:07 pm
Lol yeah but back in those days people did, nowadays people just do it for the hell of it. Our school toilets always stink of it and people just stand outside “on watch” of the teachers.
I hate the smell of cigarettes and love the smell of weed, but I wouldn’t do either (much, I don’t think!)

totally agree!!! I wish they’d ban things like this… there just cheap stupid sobby adverts what tugs the extremely delicate heart-strings of the 21st century nanny state generation and fuels this hitler-ish nazism against something that isn’t a real big issue anymore! i was raised ina smokey enviroment, admittidly i do smoke but my brother and sister don’t? It never effected me

I have to say that as an amateur director I realy like the concept and the direction of this advert however!
But yeah this is sucks, I really liked the hook ones and the clogged artery ones I have to say; I thought that graphically those were brilliant. People love moaning tho… I thought they were brilliant!
January 26th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
The concept and direction yeah… but the message… no.
January 27th, 2009 at 1:17 pm
I agree, preventing people smoking is great, at the end of the day it is harmful, but when you go for your cigarettes, see the pictures and messages, turn on your tv, see these adverts, listen to the radio, hear the adverts, it really starts to get on your nerves, but i agree with you on those adverts with the hook and the ateries, they were shocking!! i wish they’d tone it down abit though, offensive really
January 27th, 2009 at 2:01 pm
I didn’t think so, I thought it worked pretty damn shockingly, not only to current smokers but children who’d look at it and think “errr… I don’t wnat my arteries to look like that” or “err, that hook is grimy”… meets its objective and I think is quite kl.
But that seems to be where we disgree
January 27th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
well i’m glad it didn’t reslove in an argument which normally happens on youtube, haha, let’s agree to disagree

bad advert, a bit too soft.
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:06 pm
This ad was all over the news saying that it had scared kids badly. I don’t think it’s good, especially with the Jungle Book in the Background I think it insults people.

Naww true though

the nhs talk more about stop smoking yet are they making it easy for people to actually give up or just giving more excuses to say “I tried but failed”
August 16th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
people should be allowed to smoke
keeps the population down
lol

its not true, i have a family of four brothers and me, i smoke, my mother does, none of my brothers do…its all to do with the new generation, where im from you would be lucky to bump into a person of a young age such as my self ,(12) who doesnt smoke, its rediculus. i dont smoke becuase i think im big, i do as a relief, but i can go threw the day with out one.. just find it hard after a while..
